Dramaturg, teacher and educational leader, based in Aarhus Denmark.
Associate professor in production dramaturgy and theater practice at Aarhus University. Professor in Dramaturgy at Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
Do you have a project in mind? I am here to collaborate with artists and organizations to create new work and projects. With my strong background and keen interest in dramaturgy and artistic research, my work and services include dramaturgy, teaching, and new play development. Moreover, I offer my services as a consultant for dramaturgical advice on organizational strategy, curriculum development, and change management.
This portfolio is a reflection of my personal journey over the past 20 years. It has been an exciting journey that has taken me from being a teacher of dramaturgy, applied theatre, acting, and playwriting to becoming an educational leader with the responsibility for the development of multiple BA and MA programs.

Teacher
I have worked as a teacher, lecturer and advisor at different performing art educations in Denmark (and abroad) since 1999.
My professional career began as a part-time teacher of dramaturgy and theatre history at the schools of acting and playwriting (Aarhus Theater) in 1999. From 2003-2005, I was responsible for planning and developing the content of the acting department’s theory courses, which mainly focused on reading classical and modern drama texts from a historical, philosophical, and sociological perspective. I enjoy the challenge of exploring difficult concepts in accessible, interesting, and engaging ways.
From 2003 to 2009, I held a position at The Institute of Aesthetic Science (University of Aarhus), where I taught and mentored BA and MA students in Dramaturgy, Performance Analysis, Applied Theatre, Aesthetics of Theatre, and more.
Most of my subsequent work as a teacher, researcher, and educational leader has been focusing on the way in which dramaturgical theory and theatre practice can inform each other and have a strong impact on our understanding of art education and its relations to the professional field of the theatre.

In 2014, I was among the first researchers in Denmark to receive a state grant for artistic research. I have developed two practice-based projects about playwriting (“Vidnesbyrdets dramaturgi” and “Teatralitet i tekst og rum”) in close collaboration with Sandra Theresa Buch.
From 2015-2021, I managed and supervised numerous artistic research projects from inception to final presentation. These projects all shared a common ambition: to explore various approaches to theatre and performance creation (e.g., site specific theatre, sonic dramaturgy, movement material, dance and participation, immersive technologies) and the possibility to create new ideas and knowledge within the different educations and disciplines.
I have been actively involved in international research projects as well as international research networks (e.g., NORTEAS, Écoles des Écoles, ELIA, GLOMUS).
I served as chairman for NORTEAS (Nordplus network for Nordic and Baltic Theatre and Dance institutions of Higher Education) from 2019 to 2021.
